Select a broth. Select a broth from the menu, when the broth is boiling begin to add your vegetables and seasonings. Add large pieces of protein and hardy greens. Try not to over-cook your vegetables.

Seafood may take longer to cook. For clams, you must wait until they pop open themselves. Shrimps will turn pink when cooked.

Put a slice of beef or pork in the boiling broth. Then gently swish it back and forth. As soon as the color is changed, it's ready.

It's time for noodles. Vermicelli cooks really quick, for Udon it will take about 1-2 minutes. For ramen, it will take 3-4 minutes. Remember, these noodles will be boiling hot. So be careful.
